I ventured uncharted waters this week. I have been running for about nine years now. I started running with frequency just after our oldest son was born.

About three years after that we moved and I dove in head first to this running thing.

I have hit many milestones over the years with running. But this last Saturday brought to a milestone I never thought I would reach.

I ran 19 miles. All at once. In a row, consecutively. I didn’t stop until I had run 19 miles.

The farthest I had run previous was 15 miles. Nothing to shake a leg at. And a feat I wouldn’t have guessed possible by me.

I am training for a marathon next month and am aiming for the coveted 26.2 miles.

After Saturday’s run I feel confident I can compete the marathon.
