At h2o church in the fall we are embarking on a series of lessons that will coincide with our plans as a leadership to hone in on why it is as a church we are not experiencing the growth we feel we should be.
We are making several targeted changes in the way we conduct ourselves as a church, focus on our core leadership and develop them strongly with intention. I wouldn’t call h2o a ‘seeker-sensitive’ church as the term was used in the 90’s, but we have been a church that a person with little to no faith could come in and feel welcomed and at home. As a leadership we have realized that we have done a great job of communicating the hard message of the Gospel, we don’t shy away from the truth and we tackle the hard topics, but we could be doing better in growing our seasoned Christ-followers.
So, in conjunction with the Essentials series (this will be our series on doctrine, theology and core beliefs) we are intentionally targeted the spiritual growth of our leaders. We are focusing on communicating our mission, vision and purpose. We have retrofitted them to be more user-friendly so that it can easily be remembered and used by our people. We want our people to be able to articulate the Why?, the How? and the What? of everything that h2o is trying to accomplish.
8 Other seeds fell into the good soil, and as they grew up and increased, they yielded a crop and produced thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.“20 And those are the ones on whom seed was sown on the good soil; and they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.” Mark 4:8,20
