WEEK 5 – This was an interesting week in the Journey. It had several twists and turns I truly did not expect. It started out like a normal week in general and of running. But, on Tuesday as I sat in therapy I was encouraged to reconsider my running goals for the year. As my therapist and I talked what I realized is that my running efforts for 2009, 2010, 2011 we significantly lower than my hoped for goals for 2012. In light of this, he encouraged me to rethink my goals for the year to something that would be slightly more attainable therefore I would be able to celebrate the satisfaction of reaching my goal. Thanks to that conversation, I have decided to readjust my goal for the year down to 750 miles. I am already on track to meet this goal (although, as I actually complete writing this the last 5 days have seen sick family members and not much in the way of exercise… But last week’s short-lived routine has given me a taste of what can be and I like it), whereas I would be significantly behind if I was still aiming for 1000 miles.

What I Learned/Realized while running this week:
I don’t like running this little.

WEEK 6 – I decided to drop my goal last week, as outlined previously… which is good cuz I had a couple of low weeks of running. I ended up only missing my goal for this week by less than 0.5 miles. i’m ok with that. If I try hard next week, I can catch up by the end of the month… as I write this, I on my way to doing so for at least one of the weeks.
